Silicified Microcrystalline Cellulose (SMCC) is microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) silicified with a small amount of Silicon dioxide (SiO2), containing approximately 98% MCC and 2% Silicon dioxide (SiO2).
Problend Product Lines
- Problend (Density ~0.6 g/mL):
Unique in the market with a density twice that of SMCC 90. Its density is suitable for various active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) such as Glucosamine, Paracetamol, Metformin, reducing segregation during mixing and minimizing tablet size. - Problend HD (Density ~0.38–0.50 g/mL):
Comparable to SMCC HD 90. - Problend LD (Density ~0.25–0.37 g/mL):
Comparable to SMCC 90.
Advantages
- Suitable as a diluent for MUPS tablets.
- Large surface area improves compressibility and flowability in both wet granulation and direct compression processes compared to MCC.
- Functions as a diluent for herbal powders, ensuring the powder remains fluffy and dry, particularly ideal for herbal tablets.
Applications
- Optimized for Direct Compression: Enhances compressibility and hardness during wet granulation processes.
- Improves Stability of Moisture-Sensitive APIs: Ideal for herbal powder formulations.
- Enhances Content Uniformity: Reduces segregation, facilitates dose uniformity (e.g., MUPS tablets).
Compatible APIs
- MUPS formulations
- Darunavir tablets
- Zolpidem Tartrate tablets
- Simvastatin tablets
- Metoprolol Succinate tablets
- Naproxen tablets
